Sony is reportedly In Final Negotiations to buying Crunchyroll

Japanese Sony Giants are in their final negotiations to buy the U.S. streaming service Crunchyroll for 100 Billion Yen which will make Sony a global streaming service besides the likes of Netflix.

According to Nikkei Sony is planning to buy Crunchyroll along with its 3 million paying subscribers from over 200 countries and both the companies are now in their final stages of negotiations, Although the asking price is not clear, Nikkei suggests Sony could end up buying Crunchyroll for “more than 100 billion yen”.

Sony owns Aniplex and Funimation, They have gained over a million subscribers mainly in the US ever since they bought Funimation in 2017.

Crunchyroll was found in 2006 and has continued to grow for many years as they now have over 1000 anime titles along with their millions of paying subscribers as well as free subscribers.

If sony ends up buying Crunchyroll it can be huge for them as they will become one of the biggest anime distributors in the world and gain millions of subscribers. Sony also owns the popular anime “Demon Slayer”.

Sony-owned the recently released Demon Slayer movie “Infinity Train” which has already broken sales records in Japan. The movie has already gained more profit in its first week than One Piece movie Stampede and Dragon Ball Super: Broly made in their entire lifetime.

According to the Japanese Anime Association the anime market in 2018 was worth $21 billion and has continued to grow, Netflix for the first time ever has announced 16 different anime series for 2021.
